Myth: "I Need to Have Everything Figured Out Before Calling an Architect"

"I'm not ready to call an architect yet." Waiting until everything is figured out is actually one of the biggest reasons projects get delayed. Most people don't come to us with a complete plan, they come with an idea, a property, or simply a goal. The truth is, you don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out that's part of what we're here to help with.

Most projects start with a conversation, not a set of drawings. Maybe you know you need more office space, you're thinking about building a new medical office, or you recently purchased property and aren't sure what the best use for it might be. That's more than enough to get started. Our first meeting is really about getting to know you and your project. We'll ask about your goals, your budget, your timeline, and how you see yourself using the building. We'll also talk through the site, answer any questions you have, and point out things you may not have considered yet. By the end of that conversation, most clients have a much better idea of what comes next.

The first few meetings are meant for asking questions, exploring possibilities, and

figuring out what's realistic. Floor plans change, ideas evolve, and sometimes better solutions come up after we've had a chance to explore options. That's completely normal, and it's one of the reasons getting started early is so valuable. It's much easier to adjust ideas during the design process than after construction has begun.

You don't have to walk into our office with a complete plan. In fact, many of our clients

don't. All you really need is an idea of what you're trying to accomplish. From there, we'll help you take the next steps, answer your questions, and work with you to turn that idea into a project that's ready to be built.
